Professional, kind and so thoughtful. From the first contact and throughout the experience we felt confident that everything was being handled with quiet calm efficiency, and even in these difficult and restrictive times with many new rules, our funeral plans were utterly taken care of. The service during and on the day really was first class, not something that is easy to write a review about, but the distress and worry about the event was completely taken from our hands, giving us the necessary space to keep going. The team are seamless, and worked together to get everything ready at very short notice, just so kind. I would not hesitate to recommend the team here, I would be confident to recommend my closest friends and colleagues to use this teams care in their time of need. Thank you.

Having used R Davies in the past for my Father in Laws funeral which was perfectly handled, I had no hesitation in asking them to arrange my Mothers funeral. We were taken through all the steps at a pace which suited us and kept fully informed via phone/email as to how things were progressing. On the day of the funeral everything went according to Mums and her families wishes. Many, many thanks, William and family.

This was the first time I have been involved in a funeral, but I was so glad that myself and my wife took out a funeral plan with Dignity a few years ago. My first contact with R.Davies was the phone call I never wanted to make, but it had to be done. I made an appointment and met Shaun he made it so easy for me to make arrangements for my wife and they would looked after her. The staff at R Davies, Westbury Hill was so professional and supportive to me and my family at this sad time in our lives, if I could give more than 5 stars it would be doubled.

The staff were respectful, thoughtful and empathetic assisting with Mum’s funeral. The funeral went smoothly and we gave Mum a dignified send off. My sister and I created a few personal touches for the funeral and we were grateful for the slide show playing on a loop in the background. The whole contract from start to finish was handled expertly, sensitively and competently by Jacquie at Westbury Hill. It was a very positive experience for our family. Thank you. The relationship between R Davies & Son of the one part and Dignity Funerals of the other is somewhat apocryphal. I am left in hindsight to presume that in fact R Davies and Son are no more and Dignity are the outright owners of the business but that was never entirely clear. I presume there is merit seen for goodwill purposes in keeping the name R Davies & Son going in some form. The year and more of pandemic has brought about new ways of operating across the whole of society and many new discoveries will be with us in a permanent and positive way - like remote working and video conferencing, hard work that they may be. Obitus were able, up to a point, make full use of the internet to take our service not just to those outside of the permitted 30 but nationally and internationally to friends who wanted to witness proceedings. This is something that could have been arranged only with a lot of difficulty prior to the pandemic, but will now be here to stay. Great. What will be increasingly important that those working in the sector and in public facing roles will need to embrace those possibilities increasingly - become more techy in simple language. There will need to be some training in technical matters perhaps to keep abreast of changes in society! R Davies & Son have been associated with our family for funeral needs for all of my lifetime and have never failed to impress and take care of our needs - no less on this occasion. Well dome.

I give R Davies and sons 5 stars because of how kind and professional they are. I Found it very hard when my Dad passed away but R Davies supported us and did everything making it easier to cope .I would also like to thank Jackie and Shaun who are brilliant many thanks Paul Bohin

I cannot speak highly enough of the people at R Davies & Son, Westbury on Trym, Bristol. Their service was highly professional, but of greater importance to me at a time of bereavement, was the understanding and compassion with which they helped me personally, and how they managed the whole funeral process. Although the death of a loved one can never be without grief, knowing that their funeral care is being managed by a competent team of professionals inspires confidence and brings relief at a difficult time. I was very happy with the service that I received, the staff were very helpful friendly and always sympathetic.
