Coming from Southmead in the north of Bristol, Julie is an Administrator for R. Davies & Son. Having joined in 1992, she has undertaken a number of roles during her time with the funeral directors, including Funeral Arranger, before taking on her current position.As Administrator for the six funeral homes of R. Davies & Son, it is down to Julie to supervise and ensure that all administration tasks are carried out satisfactorily. This includes the recording of funeral arrangements, ordering the stationery and supplies, and invoicing. It's a role she finds both interesting and rewarding.When not supporting her colleagues in providing the highest standards of service to the families of Bristol, Julie enjoys socialising, baking and spending time with her family.

Administrator Anna comes from Southmead and helps to keep everything in order at our funeral home.

Anna carries out the general administration duties at our funeral home. Joining us in 2020, she is responsible for everything from recording the funeral arrangements in the system and writing cheques, to providing a friendly voice at the end of our phone.Coming from the Southmead area, Anna likes to ensure that the families who turn to R. Davies & Son in their times of need, get the best in service and care for their loved ones. She was previously a school administrator.Outside of the funeral home, Anna's personal time is spent doing the things she enjoys. These include being with her family, socialising and attending Zumba classes.

Pick any role associated with the funeral business and there's a very real chance that at some point during his career, Duncan has performed it. Starting out as a Funeral Service Operative, nearly 40 years ago, he has also been an Embalmer, a Memorial Consultant and a Funeral Director, among other roles. This time spent serving families who have lost a loved one has seen him take on all manner of tasks, from digging graves to conducting a funeral at sea. As an Area Manager, he nowadays looks after the needs of the six R. Davies & Son funeral homes throughout Bristol.A member of the British Institute of Embalmers, Duncan also holds a diploma in funeral directing and it is caring for both the bereaved and the deceased that is his motivation for doing the job he loves. In fact, in all the time he has spent as part of the funeral industry, he says there has never been a day in which he hasn't enjoyed going to work.Duncan keeps himself active in his community, playing rugby for two different teams, as well as running the local allotment society. He also enjoys fishing, as well as taking his family's touring caravan out on the road.

Bristol born and bred, Shaun has a wealth of experience when it comes to providing compassionate funeral care.

Involved in the funeral business for over 17 years, Shaun is a Funeral Manager at R. Davies & Son. He has previously been a Funeral Director and also worked for the Coroner's Office. His present role covers a wide remit, balancing the running of the funeral home with tasks such as making funeral arrangements and taking out funerals.For Shaun, the most rewarding part is seeing a funeral through from start to finish and ensuring that the wishes of the family are carried out to the letter. Knowing it is a send off their loved one would've approved of provides immense satisfaction and he feels honoured to be able to help families at what will be one of the most difficult times in their lives.Formerly a postman, Shaun is Bristol born and bred, attending one of the country's first purpose-built comprehensives, Henbury School (now Blaise High School). He enjoys spending time with his family and dog, socialising, travelling and film.

An experienced funeral manager, Catherine has been in the industry since 1997. During that time, she has fulfilled a number of roles, including Funeral Service Arranger and Funeral Director.With a background in psychiatric care, Catherine had been involved in supporting people to arrange funerals for their loved ones and decided that she wanted to make a difference by becoming a funeral arranger. Now involved in managing a branch as well as arranging and conducting funerals, Catherine is passionate about ensuring that she supports families in a way that makes things easier at a difficult time.Born and bred in Bristol, Catherine says that is both an honour and a privilege to serve her local community. She loves the teamwork involved in ensuring that everything runs smoothly and is very proud of the team in Bristol and their ability to deliver memorable funerals with a balance of compassion and professionalism.

After starting out as a Funeral Service Operative, Shaun found that his strength lay in building relationships with families. He prides himself on working closely with families, guiding them through the process of arranging a funeral, and delivering a truly personal service.

Shaun started in the funeral profession in 2018. Originally a Funeral Service Operative tasked with driving vehicles and managing housekeeping duties, Shaun's passion for supporting families saw him take on the role of Funeral Director.Shaun is motivated by a desire to help families during a raw time in their lives. He enjoys working closely with families to deliver a truly personal service and guide people through the process of arranging a funeral.Originally from South Wales, Shaun is now an active part of the community in Bristol. Since taking on the role of funeral director, Shaun has been working on building stronger links with local churches and other places of worship, offering support with services and fundraising initiatives.

Relatively new to the industry, Rachel became a Funeral Service Arranger in May 2021. With a background in administration, Rachel's organisational skills and attention to detail, coupled with a passion for helping people, ensure that funeral arrangements run smoothly.Rachel feels proud and privileged to be a Funeral Arranger and is driven by a desire to help people give their loved ones a memorable send-off.Rachel grew up in South Bristol and is involved in the local community. When not arranging funerals for families in Bristol, she puts her organisational skills to good use as treasurer at Highridge football club. Rachel also enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends.
