Originally Whitchurch Funeral Service, before changing our name to R. Davies & Son Funeral Directors in 2018, we have been providing families like yours, in Whitchurch and South Bristol, with professional funeral care for more than a decade. There is two-hour parking available outside our funeral home and bus stops nearby.
Our funeral home is on one level, except for a small step on entry, so is accessible for those using a wheelchair or mobility aids.
Our funeral services
We offer the choice of three funeral options. The Attended Funeral, which you can tailor to however you wish to say goodbye to your loved one; the Unattended Funeral, which provides a dignified cremation, but without a service or mourners; and The Bristol Funeral, which also offers an unattended cremation but with a service held at one of the beautiful venues available in our Silver, Gold and Platinum packages.

The whole experience from the very first contact was exceptional. The staff were very helpful and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The funeral went as planned, every detail taken care of. From the beginning to the end of Mum's funeral it was dealt with compassion, professionally and sympathetically. You could ring at any time and they were always there. Even when staff at Whitchurch had covid the team from another office showed the same kind of commitment. I would recommend them to help you through this sad time.

Excellent, at a difficult time Sarah and her team made everything very easy, they all went above and beyond and gave my aunt a truly memorable send off, they made it more of a celebration of her life. Dave and his team even drove her past her beloved Local football teams ground(which we had no ideal was going to happen) they all wore red and white and the celebrant, Jane did an excellent service. Couldn’t of wished for more. At a difficult time they made it very easy. Many thanks to all.

We dealt mainly with Sarah who was amazing - from the first phone call she made us feel comfortable and assured and made the process extremely easy - communication was also very good. Everything we asked for was taken care of and Dave on the day, was very professional and put the family at ease. The celebrant, Alison, was excellent and we were confident that the day would go without a hitch and it did. What was a very emotional experience turned out to be the day of celebration that we wanted, largely due to the professionalism and empathy that we received from R Davies and Son.

All staff that we dealt with before and on the day were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, in fact I would say Sarah especially went above and beyond what was expected. On the day David and Emily drove us to the Crem and acted with great dignity and were very helpful to my Mum. Everyone commented on the service that it was just as Dad would've liked. The Celebrant brought everything together well. Highly recommended and made easier as funeral plan in place.
